Join Plant Parenthood in a thought provoking conversation with Melissa Lavasani to explore the shifting legislative landscape around psychedelics, and talk about how parents are leading the way in shaping the next phase of federal psychedelic acceptance. We will explore how policies are impacting parental mental health and the potential impacts of future legislation on families.

Raleigh! Durham! Chapel Hill! We are thrilled to announce the Triangle Plant Parenthood chapter launch event, coming up this Sunday! In partnership with the Triangle P*ychedelic Society, our chapter leader Nick Liu will host a Friendsgiving potluck on the lake. ⁠

Plant Parenthood will host a webinar with Dr. Camille Hoffman, a site Principal Investigator on a clinical trial exploring postpartum depression and Reunion’s psilocybin compound. We will also discuss the broader implications of this research on post partum health and lactating parents.

For those of us raised in the DARE era, conversations about drugs were at best, eye-roll inducing, and at worst, fear-mongering propaganda.. As we move towards greater access to psychedelic substances, we can—and need—to do better. Fact-based, harm reduction-informed drug education must be a part of the psychedelic expansion. Join Plant Parenthood for a conversation with The Drug Lady, Rhana Hashemi, founder of ‘Know Drugs.’

The future holds great potential for psychedelics as therapeutic treatment options for children and adolescents, but not without a careful assessment of risks. But even now, adolescents are legally using prescribed substances such as ketamine to address treatment resistant depression. Soon, the FDA will require MDMA to be tested in adolescents prior to approval. And historically, children have ingested age-appropriate doses of plant medicines in ceremonial contexts within indigenous communities. Plant Parenthood will explore these topics in depth with our expert panel and invite questions from our community.

We're pleased as punch to be hosting our first in-person event in what feels like eons, in Portland on Friday, September 16th. PP will be in town for Horizons Northwest, and we've scheduled this casual meetup at Zags as an opportunity to connect with the local community (and anyone else who may happen to be in town for the conference).
